Each winter, the public submits suggestions for next year’s One Read book. In January, a panel of community members reviews the suggestions, narrowing that list down to 10 titles, and then chooses two or three books to present for a public vote.
We will announce the winning book on May 25 here at oneread.org.
To pass the time until then, read more about the two finalists.
Greetings from your friendly Web Dev!
I’m in the process of giving our lovely One Read site a facelift so don’t worry if things look a little wonky over the next day or two. Check back soon to see our fabulous new look!
We always say that while we call this program One Read, creating a successful month of events takes the work of many. This past year, a volunteer from Columbia Access Television, one of our community partners, filmed author George Hodgman’s charming, insightful and moving talk at Columbia College. He spoke about the writing of “Bettyville,” caring for his mother in her final days and the importance of a safe place to call home. If you were unable to attend that talk, or if you simply want to relive the magic of that evening, here is the recording. Enjoy!
