I continue to be amazed by all you have organized around “The Air We Breathe.” Never, anywhere, have I seen people pull so many strands of the community together over a single book, nor investigate so many areas. Express Yourself 2009 Gallery
We asked local artists to consider the themes of the One Read book “The Air We Breathe” while creating art work for this year’s Express Yourself show. You can see the art in person through September 30 at the Columbia Public Library.

Plein-Air Art Day Gallery
Because “The Air We Breathe” takes place in a sanitarium where open air is the cure, we asked local artists to take in the air and scenery as they worked “au plein air” on Saturday, September 19. Artists had one day only to complete their work and turn in their best pieces to the library. Here are the entries in three age groups: children (up to age 12), youth (13-17) and adult.

Program Rescheduled at William Woods
The program “Interpersonal Dynamics and the Treatment of the Rich vs. the Poor” has been rescheduled to Thursday, September 24 at 12:15 p.m. at William Woods Library in Fulton. It was previously scheduled for Monday, September 14 at 7 p.m.
